Many people want to learn how to jump higher, whether it be for basketball, volleyball, or just to impress your friends. Jump training isn't anything really new. In fact it's something that athletes have been using for years. So how exactly can you increase your vertical jump? What are some steps that you can take? Today we are going to go over some key tips, that really teach you how you can jump higher.

The first thing you'll want to do is hit the gym and train those muscles to help you jump. You want to mainly focus on your core muscles, which would be your abs and hips, then you would want to focus on your legs. With those muscle groups you'll get the power you want to jump higher.

Alright, so you've hit the gym and you've got those muscles working, is that all you need? Of course not! You need to start working on a good plyometrics program right away. If you're a basketball player you are probably already familiar with plyometrics, the idea is that you practice jumping by doing various jumping exercises. These are a great way to train and prepare your muscles to jump higher. Make sure you start a plyometrics program, without it you won't see any results.

The next tip I'll give you sounds a little strange, but trust me it works. You will want to stretch out your body. Stretching is great for your muscles, and can really improve your athletic performance. Consider joining a weekly yoga class, or just doing some basic stretches at home every day. I know it sounds a little silly, but trust me when I say it works, plus it'll keep you away from any injuries that will interrupt your training.

What other things can you do to improve your vertical jump? One of the biggest things that you can do is just change your attitude. I know it sounds weird, but it's true. Having the proper concentration can really make all of the difference. If you really want to beat out the competition you've got to concentrate, and be ready to apply yourself, always commit to one hundred percent. After all, you deserve the best right?

So this next tip probably won't be too much of a surprise to you. If you really want to increase your vertical, you need to start shedding those pounds of fat. The lighter you are, the easier it is for you to go up in the air. So if you want to go up higher, start losing that fat. Try to get a good low amount of body fat, and obviously a high amount of muscle. This will help you really see great results, as you will be able to propel your body even higher than normal.

Alright, so hopefully these tips have helped you out. Bottom line is, if you really want to see great results, you have to apply yourself. You need to really try to get out there and give it your best shot. Sitting around reading information can be great, but the biggest part is the application. So get a good program to follow, and then get out there. Don't hold back at all, within months all of your friends will be amazed at the progress that you've had, I promise that you won't be sorry with your results, and hard work.
